THE Western Isles Island Games Association (WIIGA) has finalised its selection for this year’s NatWest Island Games.
The week-long international event, sponsored by the Scottish Salmon Company and several local businesses and organisations, is being hosted in Gotland, Sweden, from June 24. WIIGA will take a squad of 90 athletes covering athletics, swimming, shooting, cycling/triathlon, golf, badminton, and men’s and women’s football.
The games provide island athletes with an opportunity to compete at an international event, with organisers expecting more than 3,000 competitors making this the biggest games to date.
