Sun blesses games as stalwart Margaret stands down

Margaret Mather, the secretary of Inveraray Highland Games, is stepping down after 26 years in the role. Margaret has been at the centre of everything that happens during the event, one of the biggest in Scotland. She is flanked here by some of Scotland’s premier Highland dancers from Argyll. Deanne Hagan will be taking over the position from Margaret. Inveraray games saw a near-capacity crowd at the event on the hottest day of the year so far on Tuesday. See next week’s Oban Times for a picture special.
