Festive greetings to all our readers

Michael Russell, MSP for Argyll and Bute

AFTER what has been one of the most confusing years on record – Brexit, Donald Trump, an unnecessary election and a (weather-wise at least) non-summer (though there were more tourists about in Argyll and Bute than ever) it is a saving grace that most of us can take a deep breath, wind down and look forward to a peaceful festive season with friends and family.

So I wish a very happy Christmas to everyone in the area but particularly to those who will be lonely or facing hardship even at this special time. May there be something good awaiting you as well and for all of us may there be a more caring, more considerate, more inclusive and more prosperous new year ahead.

Chief Superintendent Hazel Hendren, Argyll and Dunbartonshire Division THE FESTIVE season is in full swing and, while everyone enjoys getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s also a time to reflect on the past 12 months and what we have all achieved.

I have been in post now for six months and I am delighted and honored to be the divisional commander serving our communities in Argyll and Bute and West Dunbartonshire.
