Fears over expansion of loch hydro scheme


IF MILLIONS more tons of rock were excavated and transported off site to build a huge new hydro-electric scheme close to Loch Lochy, there could be major disruption to local communities and tourism.

Those fears were among concerns highlighted by community councillors following a briefing last week by staff from electricity firm SSE which now wants to more than double the capacity of its pumped storage scheme earmarked for Coire Glas.
