Meeting discusses ferry crisis

A CRISIS meeting has been held to find a way forward for the Mallaig to Armadale ferry in 2017.

Following a summer season of ‘unparalleled disruption’ on the ferry route, Caol and Mallaig councillor Allan Henderson, called for a meeting between interested parties this month.

Members of the Road to the Isles Marketing Group, tourism providers, business owners, three Road to the Isles community councils, the Sleat Transport Forum, a representative from Storas Uibhist, three island community councils, Better Ferries for Lochboisdale, community interest groups, and a local councillor were all in attendance at the meeting on December 9, while MSP Kate Forbes contributed by phone.
