MEMBERS of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee were asked to approve the standardisation of a two-hour, no-return period across all pay and display car parks in Stornoway town centre, at a meeting of the committee on Wednesday June 14.
In March 2016, the comhairle agreed to an initial phase of extending pay and display parking in the town centre which included extending chargeable parking to the former Fisherman’s car park and to South Beach adjacent to the Star Inn and the Caledonian Hotel and the retention of non-chargeable parking provision at No 1 Pier.
No objections were received through the public consultation.
