It sometimes seems there is so much to be depressed about in the news, not least in recent times the dreadful tower block fire in London and apparently tit-for-tat attacks in the name of religion.
So it is heartening in the extreme today to report on a number of positive stories involving selfless, charitable efforts being made across Oban and Argyll.
