Members of Oban Community Playpark have said that following a site visit by Hucks, which provided the big tower on the ship, it will replace the original timber ply deck with two pieces of aluminium support frame of a similar design. The work is due to start in the week ending November 30.
And council consultants will visit the park during the first week in December to enable the cause of the park flooring defects to be confirmed and a specification drawn up for remedial works.
By the time this information is available, the council expects to have heard whether the contractor’s insurers will be meeting the cost of the works.
