In this 21st century, technology at times seems to rule all our lives as advances leap ahead with new developments constantly taking place.
One of these has seen the advent of ‘live-streaming’ – real-time broadcasting of events on the internet and social media. This is a development that has been embraced by many businesses and organisations around the country, including several local authorities.
However, it has failed to resonate with Argyll and Bute Council, and that is despite the fact there have been calls for live-streaming of its meetings to take place. Now Councillor Julie McKenzie has launched a petition asking for this to happen, and there has been an understandable groundswell of support, with more than 1,000 people backing her campaign.
