Duo damaged cars in drunken fight

TWO men have been handed compensation orders worth £1,266 for damaging two vehicles in a fight.

Twenty-nine-year-old Anouar Ben Said, of 2a Corran Brae, and Kyle McNeill, 18, of 34c Soroba Road, both Oban, admitted wilfully or recklessly destroying or damaging two vehicles while engaged in a fight in the town’s Stevenson Street early in the morning of February 22.

McNeill, representing himself, acknowledged he was as drunk as Said but offered to pay more than 50 per cent of the damages. ‘You’re paying 50 per cent,’ Sheriff Ruth Anderson QC replied: ‘I’m making no distinction.’
