WITH a large number of visitors, a packed afternoon programme and a host of local winners, this year’s Appin Show demonstrated why it is one of the most popular on the circuit.
The large number of visitors to the event at Tynribbie Croft was partly down to the glorious weather, which came as a welcome surprise to an organising committee braced for the fore-casted rain.
Caroline Henderson, who this year succeeded Brenda MacLeod as show secretary, said: ‘A lot of people have been giving the committee fantastic feedback on this year’s show and I think the weather helped make it a great event. We have such a hard-working core of committee members and volunteers who make this happen and I would personally like to thank Lorna Paterson and Fiona Wallace, with whom I shared the secretary’s role.’
