The ‘outstanding’ Jura Music Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary last weekend. The three-day event featured some of Scotland’s top traditional musicians. The festival kicked off with a concert and ceilidh on Friday night in Craighouse Village Hall. Saturday saw Fred Morrison and Blazin’ Fiddles take to the stage, with Skipinnish headlining on Sunday night. Islander Heather Cameron said: ‘The festival committee pulled out all the stops to bring an outstanding variety of music to celebrate the 25th anniversary. The Saturday concert was an absolute delight. Sunday saw the Jura Distillery Cooperage full and jumping to Skipinnish, [who were] fantastic as always.’ The festival came to a close with Rhuvaal and ‘amazingly festival-goers had plenty of energy left to pack the dance floor’. ‘A great time was had by all’, Heather added.
