A RESIDENT of Abbeyfield Ballachulish has been honoured for his role as a flying officer in the RAF in the Normandy landings on D-Day during the Second World War.
Alexander MacLachlan, 95, received a Legion D’Honneur medal from Emmanuel Cocher, the Consul General for France in Scotland, on Friday July 22 at Abbeyfield.
