DUNBEG High School pupils bagpiped in the ‘great chieftain o the pud-din’-race’ and ‘clapped in his walie nieve a blade’ at their Burns lunch on the birthday of Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns, January 25.
Primary seven pupils Rosie Dairon, Becky Jeffery, Angus Brack and Katie MacEwan piped in and addressed the haggis.
The entranced children packing the canteen then got stuck into the traditional Scottish fare of haggis, bashed neeps and champit tatties prepared by the school cooks, and carried with ceremony to the top table by head teacher Sine MacVicar.
