▀ STAFF and volunteer members of Lochaber Sensory Care for Sight and Hearing Support (LSC) will visit Mallaig on Tuesday September 5. The team will be based in Mallaig Medical Centre from 2-3pm, where they will off er help and advice to anyone living locally with a hearing or sight loss. The LSC representatives will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tube and maintain the hearing aids. No appointment is necessary for this free service.
▀ The Kilmallie singers start their winter programme on Thursday September 7, at 7.30pm in Kilmallie Church of Scotland Hall, Caol. The evening will begin with a short AGM, followed by a rehearsal in preparation for a performance in April 2018. Work will begin on the Singers’ traditional Christmas Carol concert later this year. ▀ Lochaber Local History Society welcomes Dr Iain McNicol from Appin to the Alexandra Hotel in Fort William on September 7. Dr McNicol will give an illustrated talk on the prisoner-of-war camps at Kinlochleven during the First World War. Dr McNicol was part of a group from the Appin Historical Society which extensively researched the history of the two POW camps in Kinlochleven for their centenary in 2016.
