THE volunteer crew of Oban RNLI lifeboat Mora Edith MacDonald were called to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service in the early hours of Sunday August 27.
Shortly after 4am on Sunday morning, the volunteer crew were awoken by the sound of their pagers. The crew had been tasked by the UK Coastguard to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service with the medical transfer of a female from the Mull and Iona Community Hospital to the main land. The lifeboat left the berth with six crew and two paramedics at 4.15am arriving in Craignure at 4.45am.
With the assistance of Craignure Coast Rescue Team the patient was transferred to the lifeboat for the journey back to the mainland.
