There was praise and condemnation of the annual Argyllshire Gathering last week.
Ian Rodgers commented: ‘Got to love Oban Games…where the locals and the working man are not welcome. Events like this need to either be brought up to date, or scrapped altogether.’
David Neil Chalmers suggested: ‘You people of the town, ARE the town, take it back make it your own, have it on a weekend when everyone can enjoy it. Yes, the tourism aspect is important, but it shouldn’t just be for them and the toffs.’
