Councillor Robin Currie thanked Colonsay and Oronsay postie Keith Rutherford after he retired from decades of deliveries.
COLONSAY and Oronsay’s ‘beloved’ sub-postmaster Keith Rutherford is semi-retiring from his island deliveries after 40 years of service.
The 70-year-old’s journey featured a ‘daily aquaplane’ over the Strand to the tidal island of Oronsay, and often involved ‘24 shifts’ when he also ran Colonsay’s only shop and petrol station.
