THE Glasgow Phoenix Choir is a busy mixed-voice choir of 120-plus singers performing up to 40 concerts per year from major concert halls to cathedrals and remote island venues.
The choir continues the legacy of its illustrious predecessor the Glasgow Orpheus Choir 1901-1951 and this year the Phoenix celebrates 116 years of choral Excellence. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Co-op Funeralcare, the GPC is now able to participate in an increasing number of concerts in aid of many worthwhile causes.
Under its conductor, Marilyn J Smith MBE, and accompanist and depute conductor, Cameron Murdoch, the choir performs a wide range of music from choral standards to new music and often featuring delightful solo performances by choir members.
