Oban rallies to support new campaign to free Billy Irving

sneil@obantimes.co.uk

A NEW campaign in support of jailed Connel father Billy Irving was launched at a rally in Oban on Tuesday by Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara.

The protest took place in Argyll Square, Oban, and had been organised to mirror a similar protest in Carlisle, where Billy Irving’s partner Yvonne McHugh and supporters, including Billy’s family, hoped to raise awareness of the mens’ situation.

The demonstrations were timed to coincide with a meeting in Carlisle between the families and Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) minister Hugo Swire.
