Monte secured the runners-up spot after a 3-0 victory over the ever-improving Fiona Clarke, who gave John Grant a real scare as she took a 2-0 lead in their recent match, only for John to fight back as he took the next three games in his 12-14, 10-12, 11-4, 11-7, 11-7 win.
