MARIE CURIE is calling in Argyll residents to donate a few hours a week to support people living with a terminal illness, and their families locally.
Known as Marie Curie Helper Volunteers, the free service provides vital support to an individual and their family who are looking for companionship, emotional support or practical information.
Every volunteer is extensively trained before being matched with someone in the local area and also receives ongoing support. Typically a volunteer would spend up to three hours a week visiting someone at home or talking over the phone.
