Sleat poetry judges impressed

AN AMERICAN poet has won this year’s MacDonald of Sleat poetry prize.

The competition, run by Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, was instituted by Sir Ian MacDonald of Sleat in memory of his daughter, Deborah, who died two years ago.

Deborah Moffat receives her prize from Sir Ian MacDonald, chairman of Clan Donald Lands Trust. Also pictured are judges Mark Wringe, left, senior lecturer at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Professor Boyd Robertson, second right, principal of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, and Jan Wallwork Clarke, right, chief executive of Clan Donald Skye.
