Dangerous driver, 85, in no hurry to get back on road

AN 85-YEAR-OLD Fort William man said he might never drive again as a sheriff banned him from the roads for a year and fined him £500.

Robert MacLeod from Seaview Terrace appeared in Fort William Sheriff Court on Monday after admitting being involved in a collision with another car after driving dangerously in May this year.

The court heard the widower had been travelling northbound on the A82 at Loch Ba near Glencoe on May 21 around 10.15am. He pulled out onto the opposite side of the road to overtake two cars when he was spotted by police officers in a stationary unmarked patrol car.
