Town ‘apathy’ prompts event organisers to cancel Fort Con

ORGANISERS of Fort William’s annual comic convention have cancelled this year’s event, claiming there was a ‘lack of support’ and ‘apathy’ from the town.

Last September, hundreds of fans from across the UK flocked to the Nevis Centre in Fort William to take part in Fort Con – one of the biggest pop culture events in the Highlands.

However, in a public announcement last Friday, organisers confirmed the 2018 event has been scrapped.
