Days gone by – the Skye agitators

Kate Cumming from Oban sent in this fascinating photograph of the Skye Agitators who campaigned for land reform in the 19th century at the time of the Clearances. Kate said: ‘It includes my great-grandfather, John Macintyre, who was a stone mason and missionary in Skye. John’s grandparents came from Argyll and were related to Mhairi nee Macintyre who married Duncan Ban MacIntyre, the Glenorchy bard.
