Wolfstone relish return to Oban

CELTIC band Wolfstone are relishing returning to Oban next month, when they will blend rock and roll with traditional folk tunes at Oban Live.

Their story began at a pub session in Ross-shire 27 years ago, when Kirkhill fiddler Duncan Chisholm met vocalist and acoustic guitarist Stuart Eaglesham from Evanton, and created a band named after the Pictish ‘wolfstone’ unearthed nearby at Ardross.

The original six-strong line-up toured highland and island village halls, including Oban’s Corran Halls and Argyll Gathering Halls, and achieved mainstream success in the 1990s, when they recruited piper Stevie Saint.
