Of all the 330 million deities in Hinduism most are goddesses. I’m fond of the Goddess Bhuvaneshwari. She is one of the 10 ‘wisdom goddesses’ - The Mahavidyas. Lord Shiva refused Sati permission to attend her father’s religious ceremony, she was outraged and transformed into the 10 forms. As well as Bhuvaneshwari the other Mahavidyas include Kali, Tara, Chinnamasta, Dhumavati, Kamala, Matangi, Sodashi, Bhairavi and Bagalamukhi.
