Two’s Company

Lucy McCarthy and her baby Luna invite you to try some mother and baby yoga.

As always with babies, it’s likely things won’t go exactly according to plan - so be prepared to adapt and do what works for you and your baby in that moment. Most of all, enjoy the practice for yourself and enjoy engaging with your baby. You will need a yoga mat for yourself and a blanket for baby to lie on.

1. Child’s Pose

Bring your big toes to touch knees as wide as the hips, shins resting on the floor. Extend the spine out in front of you with your hands stretched out forwards creating length along the back. Allow the forehead to rest gently on the floor. If the forehead doesn’t meet the floor then simply stack your two hands into fists one on top of the other and allow the forehead to rest on top of the fists. Start to slow down and deepen the breath.
