I still (sort of) LOVE OWS

Jo Stoller was our “i love owS” contributor in our very first issue. we tracked her down to ask whether she still loves open water swimming

I had to have a bit of a laugh when I re-read what I wrote for H2Open five years ago. I said: “I want to do as many events as possible in 2011.” However, I had another baby instead, and didn’t do any. Baby number three didn’t keep me out of the water for too long though, and by 2012 I was ready for more open water adventures. I did the Brownsea Island swim, which is probably my favourite and one I would do again and again if it wasn’t so hard to get into. But I also did a couple of swims that didn’t go so well.

About Outdoor Swimmer

In our fifth anniversary issue we take a look back at the first five years of H2Open magazine as well as looking to the future and asking ,where will swimming take you in 2016? Whatever your level of swimming, there is a challenge out there for you! If that challenge is a winter swimming competition, we have plenty of top tips and expert advice on swimming in icy water. But if the cold doesn’t really do it for you, we have destination reports from sunny Bermuda and the German lakes. In this issue we also profile four young BLDSA swimmers as well as catching up with open water swimming champions Keri-anne Payne and Cassie Patten. Plus all the usual training, technique and nutrition advice and gear reviews. Happy swimming!
