Annie never thought she would be as active as she is now

When I was first diagnosed with complex partial seizures, I was in so much shock I didn’t ever think I’d be as active as I am now. Getting diagnosed with something I had no knowledge of was one thing, but to feel like I had lost independence was a whole other story.

I had been experiencing symptoms for many years of what I now know to be epilepsy. Unfortunately this kind of epilepsy is quite easy to miss if you don’t know much about it. We can look exactly the same as anyone else, but internally it’s a whole different story.
