The wonderful thing about macro photography is that, regardless of your setting or situation, you can always find a subject to shoot. With life seemingly put on hold at the moment, it can be demoralising to think of all the missed photo opportunities, but with close-up imaging it’s possible to source incredible subject matter in your own home or garden.
The key is balancing the presence of foreground and background to limit the context of each shot, making it impossible to tell exactly where the image was taken. This enables you to focus on the subject, which in macro photography is more important than ever – even a slight lack of sharpness is immediately obvious at these magnifications.
