Plant & Machinery Model World  |  Spring 2014

The Nuremberg toy fair this year highlighted some much anticipated releases while also providing a number of surprises. NZG had a great offering with several new brands added to their portfolio, including the welcomed Komatsu WA1200 wheel loader and the start of a new range of JCB replicas. Bymo are back with the announcement of their latest Bauer model, the MC96 which should be available by the end of May.
Last year was difficult for several manufacturers and the announcement of a merger between WSI Models and Wan Ho will result in the company having full control of the manufacturing process. The product range from Tonkin Replicas Europe has grown rapidly with an anticipated 24 new Caterpillar models from the maker by the end of 2014 alongside new cranes for Kobelco and Link-Belt and new trailers for Nooteboom and Kamag.
In this issue, I continue my investigations into the wide range of Mammoet models that have been produced along with a look at newcomers Casagrande. There have been a number of fork lift models produced over the years and I look at the offerings from Ros of the Toyota BT series along with two communal painted 1:32nd scale replicas from Weise-Toys. The latest Caterpillar models from Norscot are put under the spotlight with the Terex AT20 “Franna”, Sandvik crusher and Sennebogen 860 just some of the reviews covered in this issue.
In the next issue, we are expanding with more pages of reviews and features. Until then, happy reading.
