TOUR THE ISLE OF WIGHT
Queen Victoria adored the rolling hills and rugged shoreline of the Isle of Wight, and today it still makes for a wonderful holiday destination. Claudia Dowell spends a few days exploring. The ferry crossing from Lymington in Hampshire to Yarmouth in the Isle of Wight takes just forty minutes and once here you have a whole motorhome-friendly island to explore. The terrain is hilly and there are plenty of sea views, as well as several award-winning campsites to check out. This stretch of the A3055, which forms the southern section of the A-roads that circumnavigate the island, is known as Military Road and is renowned for its biodiversity.
