AATIF HASSAN, the founder and chairman of fast-growing Dukes Education, was an outspoken critic of the Labour government’s VAT changes for fee-paying schools, calling it “lazy politics” in a long article in the Telegraph last year. As the large private school chain now cosies up to Uzbekistan, its leaders should remember that the government there is not nearly so tolerant of criticism.
