Often, when we make decisions about nutrition, we react to our thoughts – the cravings of our mind. We make choices that serve our internal chatter, but aren’t right for our body – mindlessly eating junk or sugary ‘comfort’ food that we think will make us happy, or adopting restrictive diets. When we practise intuitive eating, we take it that step further, using mindfulness to anchor ourselves in the present, and we need to be here to listen to our body’s wisdom.
