This month, it’s all about connection. Whether it’s resetting family bonds by rewriting your sibling status (read about Amy Pierce’s experiment to stop being the ‘flaky little sister’ on page 26) or figuring out how to set up a business with someone you love, without getting divorced or losing a friend (see Sháá Wasmund’s column on page 43), we ask you to reach out and really talk to the people in your life.
It’s not only our communication with others that may need work, but how we listen and talk to ourselves. ‘What would life be like if, instead of criticism, you gave yourself encouragement? You make a mistake, but your inner dialogue says, “Never mind, learn; you’ll do better next time,”‘ says Karla Newbey on page 53.
Our Dossier (page 62) looks at how to create a real-life community, in person, with like-minded people, and we’re upgrading our Life Leap Club with this goal (see below), so we can form safe, respectful and kind spaces to gently support each other. Let’s build a happier society by providing places to connect; on the page, online and in living rooms around the country, to talk about how we can thrive, no matter what.
