While the late 80s gave us rave, PWL, Madchester and East Coast/West Coast rap rivalry, the public were excited by a Yorkshire collective’s quackquack-oops megamixes of swing and pre-Elvis rock’n’roll. Their first three singles reached No.1 and they somehow belched out three albums of novelty pap, compiled here. It’s worth remembering that Glenn Miller was as recent to 1989 as punk is to now, a nostalgia Jive Bunny were happy to butcher. It was heinous then and sounds simply baffling now.
