Colour and prints make my home unique
A fearless approach to colour and design helped turn a bland new build into a home brimming with character

‘The upcycled Lloyd Loom chest was a gift from my sister and it gives us extra storage. The bright spotty fabric works well with the greens and pinks and other patterns, which include blinds from Laura Ashley and cushions with my own print designs’
Sitting room
‘We both liked the idea of a cosy, checked chair, so that was our first buy for this room, along with the sofa. We had a bit of a decorating disaster early on, as I chose a minky taupe for the walls. It turned out almost lilac and just looked wrong, so we had to start again! The green is unusual, and very restful, especially as I’ve softened it with a creamy-yellow on the other walls.‘
GOOD IDEA Keep your space flexible with modular sofa that can be divided and rearranged
‘I’d rather have a mixture of things that sit well together, than everything being too coordinated’
Welcome to my home
A bit about me
I’m Natasha Everleigh. I’m married to Toby and we have a son, Sebastian, who is 18 months old.
Where I live
My home is a threebedroom, three-storey, new build in Taunton, Somerset. We’ve lived here since June 2012.
What I wanted to change
The interior was bland and featureless and we wanted to bring it to life so it would reflect our personalities and the things we love.
