GASPEREAU PRESS PUBLISHER Andrew Steeves has observed that most of the visual arts related books produced today are either weighty full-colour tomes that double as decoration or academic catalogues written for very specific audiences. The Nova Scotia press’s new essay series, A Gaspereau Field Guide to Canadian Artists, could easily be read on the go – although the handbound letterpress publications still hold their own as a coffee-table display.
