Passengers at Tweedbank
SOME of the busiest trains on the new Borders Railway were replaced by buses during October, as still more people flocked to the route between Edinburgh, Galashiels and Tweedbank after it had opened in early September.
The level of usage is running well ahead of predictions, and the four two-car sets diagrammed for the standard service of a train approximately every 30 minutes at most stations have proved to be inadequate at peak times, so that some of the busiest journeys are now being worked by a three-car set.
