'Oh yeah, old Wolfie,' said Elsie Tamke in her Australian drawl. 'He was a one.' Elsie was in her nineties when I met her 20 years ago. She was enjoying regular sips of The Octavius Shiraz, a big red from the Barossa Valley. Her accent blended Australia with her native Germany, the country she fled as a child.
