The Road Dance
We all love witnessing the moment when a star is born. It's a zing of light coming off the big screen and it hit me watching Hermione Corfield in romantic tragedy The Road Dance.
In her first lead movie role, she plays Kirsty Macleod, a young woman in a tiny fishing village in the Outer Hebrides in 1916.
Suddenly, the few boys in the village, including Kirsty's secret sweetheart Murdo (Will Fletcher), find themselves conscripted to fight at the Western Front and the little settlement holds a whisky-drenched 'road dance' with lots of jigging, fiddle and bagpipes to send the young heroes off to war.
