Scramble Magazine 404 - January 2013 Back Issue

English
152 Reviews   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Aviation)
This month's edition features specials about:

- 8. Baza Lotnictwa Krakow-Balice
Krakow-Balice airport is home to the Polish Air Force (Siły Powietrzne – SP) 8. Baza Lotnictwa (BLTr, Airlift Base) and located about 15km west of Krakow. Manolito Jaarsma reports from Poland.

- Airfield Guide: Sion
In the Rhône valley, in the centre of the Valais region and nearly integrated with the city of Sion, lies this combined military and civil airfield. It is surrounded by high mountains that will give you the typically Swiss background while watching the aircraft. We have listed the best spots to go to.

- Bye, bye, BMI
With the take-over of BMI by British Airways and Iberia parent International Airline Group (IAG), an end of an era has come. In this article we take a closer look at the history of what once was Britain’s second airline.

- Canadian Warplane Heritage is forty!
The year 2012 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and to mark this occasion, we present you the first article on this world famous collection of, mainly airworthy, historic aircraft. Their history and that of the people who restore, maintain or fly these birds will be
highlighted in this and the coming article. We are going to start right at the very beginning.

- Picture writing ... Devine Jetliner: Dassault Mercure
A quick glance at the aircraft above and one might think that this is another Boeing 737-200. When examining the design closely, it appears to be larger than the Boeing model. Furthermore,
the exhaust of the engine looks differently as well. One is looking at the Dassault Mercure.

Our monthly returning topics:
- Movements and trips Netherlands, Belgium + Rest of the World, civil and military.
- The latest news, both civil and military.
- Updates on the world's aircraft fleets, civil and military.
- Aircraft mishaps in Dustpan and Brush.
- Wrecks & Relics.
- Warbirds.
- Scramble Intelligence Service.
- Triptease
- Showreports (MEBA, Dubai special)
