World’s largest methanol engine

The Engine and Machinery Division of South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries has completed the world’s largest methanolpowered two-stroke engine, an MAN B&W G95ME-C10.5-LGIM type. The powerplant, which can also operate on conventional fuel, works according to the Diesel principle, using direct injection, and features a 95cm (37.4in) cylinder bore. When installed it is expected to save approximately 130,000 tons of CO2 annually.
