LEGENDARY LORD RIPON'S NOCTON SHOOT
With a unique train, Lincolnshire’s Nocton estate was the scene of some prodigious shoots in times past. Richard Gray is glad to find it still thriving. The Nocton estate shoot and village of the same name in Lincolnshire has had a chequered history. Unlike so many estates that have been in the same
family for generations, Nocton has had many different owners over the years, one of the most notable being the third marquis of Ripon, who owned the estate from 1816 to 1889.
