W hen I think back to the Christmases of past, I’m always met with a plethora of wonderful memories of utterly delicious food being lovingly prepared for hours upon hours by my mum, who rose extra early on Christmas day to somehow stuff a huge turkey into our small oven. It really came as no surprise that when my family made the decision to adopt a vegan diet, there was plenty of head-scratching surrounding the idea of replacing our traditional turkey centrepiece. We soon came to discover that substituting with vegan alternatives to turkey would make our meals more interesting and delicious, as year upon year we reinvent our old festive traditions in favour of the new and cruelty-free.
