Since going vegan, I’ve become increasingly aware of what goes into the food I’m eating – both in terms of animal-derived ingredients and things like processed fats, salt and sugar. Takeaway pizza has become a thing of the past in my household (there aren’t any dairy-free options in my area yet), whilst ordering a curry is often questionable as some dishes are cooked in ghee. And to be honest, I don’t miss takeaways – I’d never feel great after eating them anyway!
Thankfully though, we don’t have to give up all those exciting flavours and world-inspired dishes — we can make them ourselves easily at home. This issue we show you how, with simple recipes for everything from hoisin bao buns and coconut fried rice to tomato and pesto pizza, buffalo wings and katsu curry (p16).
