Artist, John Rogers with the late Kerry Hedges at last year’s event at Hole Park
This open-air painting event in Kent in May provides an opportunity for artists to get together and paint the glorious gardens and surrounding countryside of Hole Park, near Rolvenden while, at the same time, taking part in a competition and exhibition too. Artists are invited to work on their paintings in situ between May 15 and 17. The paintings will then go on show to the public on May 18 and 19, when the results of the competition will be announced. Visitors are welcome to watch the artists at work on entry to the park, and, of course, works will be available to purchase at the exhibition. The event aims to raise funds for the Pilgrims Hospice in Ashford. There is a £30 fee for artists taking part in the event. Entry to Hole Park is £7.50, but if you want to return to see the exhibition, retain your ticket for free entry to the exhibition and tea rooms. To take part go to www.facebook.com/pleinairkent
