When I was a student at the University of North Florida I played in a masterclass with cellist Minna Rose Chung, a professor here in Manitoba. She was the main reason I decided to make the move to Canada after I finished my master’s, and I’m now studying here for a baccalaureate performance diploma. The course I’m taking gives me time to practise for at least four hours a day, which is exactly what I need at this stage in my career.
The other motivation for coming to Winnipeg was the fact I knew I’d have a job straight away if I did.
